February 10, 2010: In Syktyvkar, Head of the Republic of Komi Vyacheslav Gayzer and LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov signed Protocol No. 4 to the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Komi and the Company dated November 13, 2006. The document designated the key areas of joint activity in 2010. Under the Protocol, the LUKOIL Group enterprises intend to produced up to 9.3 million tons of oil and up to 550 million m3 of gas in the Republic of Komi this year.
February 12, 2010: In Tomsk, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov took part in a meeting of the Commission for modernization and technological development of the country's economy, chaired by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
February 12, 2010: In Moscow, members of the LUKOIL-RUSNANO panel met in a regular meeting held within the scope of the General Agreement on Strategic Partnership signed by the Company and the government-controlled corporation on October 8, 2009.
February 16, 2010: In London, the leading banks surveyed by the newspaper Euroweek recognized the bonds of LUKOIL International Finance (a 100% subsidiary of LUKOIL) issued in November 2009 to the amount of $1.5 billion as the Best Emerging Market Corporate Deal of the Year.
February 19, 2010: Miller and Lents (USA) completed its evaluation and independent audit of LUKOIL's oil and gas reserves as of January 1, 2010. Accordingly, the Company's actual hydrocarbon reserves as of that date amounted to 17.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent, including 13.7 billion barrels of oil and 22.9 trillion ft3 of gas.
February 26, 2010: In Accra (Ghana), President of the Republic of Ghana John Atta Mills received LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov. During the reception, it was announced that a consortium consisting of LUKOIL Overseas (56.66%), the U.S. Vanco (28.34%) and the government-owned Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (15%) had discovered substantial reserves of hydrocarbons in the Dzata structure of the Cape Three Points Deep Water block located in the Gulf of Guinea on Ghana's shelf.
March 1, 2010: In Perm, in accordance with the development concept for accounting services of the LUKOIL Group of companies, LUKOIL-PERM Regional Accounting Center started operations. The Center brought together the accountants offices of the main LUKOIL subsidiaries located in the Perm Territory.
March 2, 2010: In Moscow, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and RUSNANO General Director Anatoly Chubays met to discuss joint projects for deploying cutting-edge innovative technologies in the oil and gas industry.
March 4, 2010: In Moscow, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and Governor of the Perm Territory Oleg Chirkunov signed a Protocol of Cooperation between the Company and the Territory for 2010. The document envisaged, in particular, that LUKOIL would this year
invest 650 million rubles of the Company's money received from application of the reduced profit tax rate in construction of social facilities in the area.
March 11, 2010: LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft obtained the results of satellite monitoring for the North Caspian conducted by the Research and Development Center ScanX on the request of the Company. No oil spills have been traced during the monitoring period within the boundaries of the license areas of LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft.
March 18, 2010: In Kiev (Ukraine), President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov discussed with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov issues related to the Company's activities in the country.
March 18, 2010: In Saratov, First Vice-President of LUKOIL Vladimir Nekrasov and Governor of the Saratov Region Pavel Ipatov signed a Protocol to the Cooperation Agreement between the Company and the Region for 2010. According to the document, this year the Company's enterprises will market up to one hundred thousand tons of petroleum and gas products in the Region and ensure production of approximately 6.73 billion rubles' worth of petrochemicals.
March 23, 2010: Head of the Main Division of Legal Support of LUKOIL Ivan Masliaev became winner in the category General Counsel of the Year during the European Counsel Awards 2010 ceremony hosted by the International Law Office in conjunction with the Association of Corporate Counsel Europe. This was the first time in its history that the European Counsel Award's General Counsel of the Year was given to a representative of a Russian company.
March 23, 2010: LUKOIL published consolidated U.S. GAAP financial accounts for 2009. The Company's net income in 2009 was $7,011 million. Revenues from sales were $81,083 million. Free cash flow was $2,360 million in 2009.
March 25, 2010: In Kaliningrad, Russia's first ERMAK drilling unit was unveiled today, at a metalworks of LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft. The unit is equipped with a unique hydraulic
mobility system, by means of which the unit can move stepwise in all directions and around its axis to achieve a 360 degree rotation.
March 29, 2010: In Krasnodar, Heads of the Power Generation business segment of LUKOIL Group convened. At the meeting, the executives noted that the primary objective of the LUKOIL investment program in Power Generation was to enhance the efficiency of enterprises in this business segment, particularly, in generation of electric and thermal power.
March 31, 2010: In Moscow, LUKOIL central offices hosted celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. Dubbed University Day, the celebrations included an exhibition dedicated to the history of the University and its cooperation with LUKOIL.
April 13, 2010: In Moscow, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and Minister of the Environment of Finland Paula Lehtomaki discussed issues related to the safety of oil transportation on the Baltic Sea, including the Gulf of Finland. The meeting was also attended by Matti Anttonen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Russian Federation, and Juha Nurminen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the John Nurminen Foundation.
April 14, 2010: LUKOIL won the All-Russian contest "Best Russian Enterprises. Dynamics, efficiency, responsibility-2009" held at the initiative of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in nomination "For consistency in the development of non-financial reporting".
April 15, 2010: LUKOIL won the contest "The best gasoline filling station in 2009". The organizer of the contest is the Russian monthly magazine A modern gasoline filling station.
April 16, 2010: In Moscow, specialists of LUKOIL were awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Science and Technology. Laureates of the Prize in 2009, in particular, became First Vice-President of LUKOIL Sergey Kukura, LUKOIL Vice-President Ilya Mandrik, Head of Subsoil Use Department of LUKOIL Sergey Siryk and Deputy Head of Subsoil Use Department of LUKOIL Grigory Adamov.
April 20, 2010: In Moscow, a session of the LUKOIL Board of Directors took place. Details were finalized regarding the Annual General Shareholders Meeting. In particular, the Board of Directors decided to hold the Meeting on June 24, 2010.
April 21, 2010: LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov was named one of the top three European oil and gas companies' CEOs by portfolio managers (buy-side), as a result of the survey carried out by Institutional Investor magazine among international investment society. Furthermore, LUKOIL was named the best Russian company in investor relations by analysts (sell-side).
