February 4, 2008:
In Moscow, the Board of Directors of LUKOIL approved a list of candidates for election to the Board of Directors and the Auditing Committee for voting at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. The list of candidates was drawn up on the basis of proposals submitted by shareholders holding at least 2% of the voting shares.
February 7, 2008:
In St. Petersburg, JSC LUKOIL-AERO and JSC Gazpromneft-Aero launched a joint business to provide into-plane aircraft fueling services at Pulkovo international airport. This became possible after Gazpromneft-Aero had acquired a 50-percent ownership interest in the North-West Refueling Company (a wholly owned subsidiary of LUKOIL).
February 12, 2008:
In Moscow, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov met Republic of Iraq Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari in the LUKOIL central office to discuss the prospects for further bilateral cooperation.
February 15, 2008:
LUKOIL made deal to acquire 100% of the shares in JSC Association for socioeconomic, scientific and business cooperation GRAND and a 100-percent ownership interest in JSC Mega-Oil Ì, the assets of which include 122 gasoline filling stations located in Moscow and the Moscow Region, as well as 26 filling stations in the Pskov, Kaluga, Novgorod and Rostov Regions.
February 18, 2008:
In Moscow, a meeting of the LUKOIL Management Board was held to approve the procedure for acquiring 82.3% of the shares in JSC YuGK TGK-8 totaling 1,696,675,068,701 units for a sum of 67.5 billion rubles. It is planned to complete acquisition of these shares before June 1, 2008. The electric power assets thus acquired will be managed by a special purpose company, LUKOIL Power Generation Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of LUKOIL).
February 19, 2008:
In Helsinki (Finland), the city museum, with the support of LUKOIL, inaugurated an exhibition of “Wondrous Landscapes” from the State Tretyakov Gallery. The exhibition included Russian fine art masterpieces from the collection of the gallery.
February 27, 2008:
In Moscow, a victory ceremony was held for the prize winners and other awardees of the “Engineer of the Year” competition. The competition’s winners included employees of LUKOIL-Perm: Vadim Voyevodkin, Deputy General Director for Geology and Field Development, and Dovrangeldi Yelbarsov, an engineer from the department for metrology and automation systems.
March 5, 2008:
In Sochi (the Krasnodar Territory), LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov, made a presentation of the Company’s activities in the Southern Federal District. Grigory Rapota, RF President Plenipotentiary in the Southern Federal District, heads of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the Volgograd and Astrakhan Regions, North Caucasus republics also attended the event.
March 5, 2008:
In Sochi (the Krasnodar Territory), LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and Arsen Kanokov, President of Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, signed Memorandum of Partnership between the Company and the Republic. The document envisages LUKOIL to supply and sell quality petroleum products in the Republic, including Euro-3 and Euro-4 gasoline and diesel.
March 7, 2008:
LUKOIL Overseas Holding Ltd. has completed a transaction with JSC MGNK Soyuzneftegaz to acquire 100% of SNG Holdings Ltd. Group that includes Soyuzneftegaz Vostok Limited, which is a party to the Production Sharing Agreement for the fields of South-West Gissar and the Ustyurt Region in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The transaction amount came to approximately $580 million.
March 25, 2008:
In Baghdad (Iraq), LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov held meetings with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoshyar Zebari, Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahristani and other officials. The parties discussed prospects of the Company’s involvement in oil and gas projects in Iraq such as participation in the development of West Qurna-2 oil field.
March 28, 2008:
In Moscow, the Oil of Russia magazine became a laureate of the All-Russian National Contest The Best Corporate Media in 2008 and was awarded the Diploma of Honor.
March 31, 2008:
In Naryan-Mar, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and Head of the Nenets Autonomous Area Administration Valery Potapenko signed Protocol No.2 to the Cooperation Agreement between the Company and the Area. The Protocol describes cooperation policy for 2008.
April 3, 2008:
In Perm, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and Vagit Alekperov, President of ÎÀÎ LUKOIL and Governor of the Perm Territory Oleg Chirkunov took part in the official opening of the second stage of oil packaging terminal at LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez. The design capacity of the terminal is up to 140 thousand tons of motor oils a year.
April 4, 2008:
In St. Petersburg, Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, Ravil Maganov, LUKOIL First Executive Vice President, and Vladimir Nekrasov, LUKOIL First Vice President, along with other executives of the Company took part in a meeting with Ilya Klebanov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the North-West Federal District, and regional governors. The Company representatives reported on the results of LUKOIL Group’s activities in North-West Federal District and its development plans.
April 8, 2008:
In Moscow, Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL and Vladimir Yakunin, President of JSC Russian Railways, signed the protocol of the meeting held to define major bullet points of cooperation for 2008 aimed at developing both companies’ transport infrastructure to ensure guaranteed petroleum products deliveries from LUKOIL facilities.
April 11, 2008:
In Moscow, LUKOIL Management Board approved Annual Coordination Research and Technology Program of the Company for 2008. Total financial input for Program implementation approximates 3.15 billion rubles, 85% of which accounts for the upstream segment.
April 14, 2008:
In Moscow, a ceremony was held to sum up the Brand of the Year/EFFIE 2007 contest. LUKOIL EKTO branded automobile fuel won the second prize in the Auto-moto nomination.
April 15, 2008:
In Moscow, Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, Nicky Oppenheimer, Chairman of De Beers Societe Anonyme, Gareth Penny, Managing Director of De Beers Societe Anonyme, Bruce Cleaver, Chairman of Archangel Diamond Corporation and Tom Beardmore-Gray, Archangel Diamond Corporation Director signed definitive agreements concerning the ownership and development of the Verkhotina diamond project located in the northwest of Arkhangelsk, Russia.
April 16, 2008:
LUKOIL has become winner in the Filling Station of the Year rating for the third time running, based on Trusted Brand 2008 survey held in Russia by Reader’s Digest, an international publishing house. The Company ranked first in similar ratings of Reader’s Digest in 2006 and 2007.
April 18, 2008:
LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko attended the official ceremony of commissioning the Odessa refinery as the
reconstruction of the refinery, started in 2005, had been completed.
April 25, 2008:
In Tashkent (the Republic of Uzbekistan), LUKOIL Board of Directors held a visiting session to approve the agenda of the annual meeting of shareholders scheduled for June 26, 2008.
